How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

it's supposed to be in a deep-house genre, but i'm not sure it sounds so...

Without hearing the whole track I'd call it progressive deep house. The production needs work. Post it to soundcloud or something.

don't want to post it to sc, till it's not done.

I get that, but it's hard to give concrete advice. Perhaps someone with more skill will come in here and give you more precise advice. As I'm sure that you know, arrangement is key in determining where something fits.

Really, you should find a place to post the in progress work. Most people are a lot nicer than I am and you'll get better advice.

yeah, i know what you mean.
basically the cut's are in the same order as a track progression, so i just cut them down to 8 bars, instead of hearing the full demo you can get the idea about the track more quickly this way. so, basically all work in progress is presented here for judgment. :)

i like the drums and sounds you used for sure, i am always trying to find high quality samples for beats, did you use a drum loop or program ?
if you used single hits would you mind telling me what sample cd you used ?

So the sounds seem fine to me, you're certainly staying within the context of deep/melodic house. I think your leveling needs a lot of help, there are some sounds which are drastically too loud and other sounds that need to come up. Leveling is very hard but here's my workflow and perhaps it will help:

Put your speakers to a level that is fairly quiet, almost the same level you watch TV at or background music while reading/etc. This is important because leveling is much easier when you're playing things at very very very moderate volumes.

Here's the next step or sequence:

1.) Bring your kickdrum to -5db
2.) NO OTHER SOUND will exceed -5db, so bring anything & everything down that is above that threshold (-5db)
3.) A good tip is to highlight all tracks and set the volume to as low as you can
4.) slowly bring up what you consider the most important sounds (probably your pad & bassline)
5.) Next bring up your other drum sounds slowly, to the point where you hear them but obviously they cannot exceed -5db. Your snare/claps will probably be the second loudest drum sound, then toms, then hi-hats.

Try that and re-upload for us.

thanks, really nice tip, i will give it a try.

...about the sounds and melody i think i will need to do some changes or maybe replace the synth part that starts from 1:04 as it moves the track more into progressive side of house. :)
