Just finished a new tuneTranseast.
This is my fist completed piece done entirely in Energy SA. It evolved as more features were added and uses most all of it's features, live recording, external hardwrare, along with a ton of vst's. Also my first Cafe post. Looking for feedback to improve the quality of my music, but feel free to rip it. Sometimes the truth hurts and helps. Thanks MRT |

hey MRT,
i thought this was a jammin' little tune. kind of old skool dancy-type music. can't really say anything jumped out at me and I do think the drums/percussion were a bit low (volume-wise) in the mix. that or the synths/strings were too loud. keep posting your stuff lates t-willy |

Nice little ditty. I agree about the drums. But don't only make them louder, make them crisper. They sound muffled. I find CamelPhat Free is a good way to bring muffled drums out in a mix, if you don't just wanna add EQ. Nice vocoded vox. It that a sample? |

Oh and way to put Delay Lama in there! I love it when someone sneaks that legend into a mix. |

Thanks for the input. Drums seem to be an on going problem with most of my stuff,so i'll be checking out CamelPhat. Female vocals are samples not sure where I got them either a CM disk or http://www.dorumalaia.com/

Geeseaplenty, just listened g+the+spider, three times each progressively louder. That tune rocks!
I've got a couple of questions: What are your two favorite synths? What are the drums? Those are fantastic toms. Lead synth sound is a keeper. MRT |

Thanks. I appreciate the compliment. That entire song was made with Ugo's free monosynths, Rez and Texture. Ugo liked it so much he was kind enough to post it on his website. If you don't have these beautiful synths in your plug-ins folder, YOU SHOULD! They are the most amazing and exciting instruments to come out in a long time, free or not. He's also now putting the finishing touches on a new (free) polysynth called String Theory. I just completed a demo for that tune which will be posted shortly. Having become acquainted with this synth over the last week, I can honestly say it surpassed my expectations, which were damn high! All I can say is, you guys are in for a treat! Everything on that song is Rez and Texture, except for the drums. I used Super Quartet (Ambient Kit) and Battery (ns7 free kit). ns7 free kit is also amazing. It has 16 velocity layers per drum! Get it if you don't have it. Again, thanks for the compliment. |

A strange yet also appealing combination. For some reason I liked the drums to be a bit in the back in this one, as louder they would have gotten in the way of the melody too much. I rather enjoyed the combination of the strings/cello and I think that was the Claw. Good muffled use of the delay-lama.
The best way to learn I guess is through making only more and most of all listening to other tunes. There's a well of information to be gathered here, as asking how someone created a particular sound might get you some inside tips |
