Is anyone running BWS in xfce desktop? For some reason it's behaving for me as if there the audio engine is off, ie. not playing but not frozen. Audio is working, does the same whether through JACK or through ALSA. I can log out and log in with GNOME and it works fine.
The eff?

I'd look at pulseaudio, if it's installed, and remove it. libpulse itself, will probably be
required, but not the rest. Also, run alsaconf, to insure your desired soundcard
has not been replaced against your will. And if a usb input device is used,
make sure it's ID hasn't been altered by switching which port various
usb peripherals are plugged in to. I have not used xfce, so better advice
may appear.
