downloading...

GREAT! - Looks like they solved it!

Stereo Input!

Finally!

(time to start coding *reserved2 and *reserved3... Razz )

L and R I'm guessing, as opposed to stereo which is already there.

Nope, hehehe...

Audio Input was reserved1... (Osc1 and 3 take L, Osc2 and 4 take R)

reserved2... pitch shifting
reserved3... some granular action

But I havn't done enough research, yet. It'll probably come along with another plugin, based on the same technologies... (whenever that might be...)

Cheers,

Sounds Sa-Weet!

Any chance of also adding anolog-style Fm mod to the line mixers?

I find it more musical than AM/Ring Mod

Shocked

Hehe, sorry, but FM is the wrong application for the LineMixers. These take the signal when it's already generated, while FM has to be applied while generating the signal...

I will consider this stuff when I can be sure that no-one uses any machine with less than 1.5 GHz. Otherwise I couldn't provide any good quality. For the time being, typical FM characteristics will only be available with the "dissonant" waveforms...

I guess there are 2 types of FM, I'm not talking about the one in the DX7 that actually generates the OSC, but like the one in analog synths (like cronox, subtractor, crystal, etc...) that process the signal afterward like AM/Ring Mod, the only difference being that the frequency is modulated instead of the Amplitude. I don't think it takes more cpu in synths I've used it in.

Doing it right would take quite a lot of cpu Surprised

It'd involve a decent amount of oversampling to avoid aliasing. FM itself isn't very predictable when used with arbitrary waveforms rather than DX-style sine waves.

But then, I am sooo proud that Zebra's oscillators produce almost no aliasing even without any oversampling... Very Happy

Hence, in both V1.0 and V1.5 I voted against analogue style FM.

(however, dissonant3 takes the current spectral wave as a component for FM-like processing)

Now, with the modular approach where stuff can be processed in arbitrary order, it has become even more difficult. I can't just oversample the oscillators 2, 4 or even 8 times and then process the entire rest at normal samplerate. I would have to process everything at the oversampled rate.

Or, I would have to "cheat" in other ways, which I don't like.

I mean, FM is cool, but I honestly don't think it's worth the hassle putting it into Zebra.

I might come up with a dedicated lead synth (Zoyd 1.0?) that does FM. But for now I would say, Zebra won't get it, unless something unexpected happens...

(the same accounts for Osc->Vcf modulation btw. which I would LOVE to put in, but can't for the same reasons)

Cheers,
