hahaha...It`s wonderful to hear you liked my and your invision of this song being much more laid back and a little sleezy. I can try to explain some things of what I did in this mix...but so many words to explain! This is where time and skill come to work. I will be sending you,as I say before, all the tracks you posted,repaired/cleaned/mastered so you can produce with them a good mix also.Everything I did to each track has a picture and description of each change. I then took these "new" track to my multi-track recorder/seqr,and from there I used many software EQ/effects/dynamic plugins to make my interpretation of the song. With the "new" tracks you will be able to do your best! The new tracks were worked on in "sony sound forge7".This is an editing and mastering program.(all pix will be of this work.)(No pix of the mix mp3 work) Champagne!...you really mean it???hehe...too much for you to do,the mail and all...thanx so much though...i`m sure you would do this. ---- "For many individuals with mental illness, creativity is a valued and central part of their identity." |

Hey HanafiH.
Nice work by the way! Just listening now. The vox was a bitch!hehehe You know,I had a hell of a time with that snare!!!! Trying to get it to sit well enough in the mix direction I was going for. I edited/knocked 6db off every snare hit manually!!!hahaha everything except the vocals a bit, are real smooth and musical in your mix!Very nice. PS: Just now noticing that we placed the instruments just about in the same place!hehehe ---- "For many individuals with mental illness, creativity is a valued and central part of their identity." |

Sorry for the wait...but here are the pix I promised you.
http://home.comcast.net/~newdabranck/music/pix.zip I had so much enjoyment working with your files! Working with other talent beside my own is such a pleasure. Working a mix with separate audio tracks, and that they were conventional instruments and singing was the best part. I liked it so much that I want to improve whe mix more, and like you said about the night club sound,I`d like to make it sound as if it were a cinema scene in a basement, smokey night club...hopefully with night club sounds of people and bottles/glasses. If I can find the right applause,it will have that also at the end. I will document the mix work for you this time. PS: I forgot the new audio tracks...will post them below. ---- "For many individuals with mental illness, creativity is a valued and central part of their identity." |

Thank you very much. I've printed all the pics in colour and will sutdy those. Very interesting, this is allmost a tutorial by itself You have a very 'artistic' way of mixing, it shows how much a song can change by the artistic interpration of a mix. I'm definitifly looking forward to the final result. Rony |

That`s the magic I too have found to be true also...since mixing your tracks. If you have a good assortment of plugin effects,(good ones),you can do most anything these days w/the computer! I`m by no means slick when I choose an effect. I just deside what sort of effect catagory I want, then try different ones and presets, and see if it`s what I am after. I`m still in the trial and error stage.(got my 1st pc 7yrs ago!) Mostly because i`m somewhat lazy and don`t study them enough and make my own documentation. If one is serious about the mixing...and has lots of software to use,(or lucky enough to have bought the correct ones),then you really have all the possible mix of colors on your palete! BTW:A death metal band friend of mine just had his band recorded.(semi-pro) He`s giving me the 24/96khz tracks to work a mix! WOW...even though metal is not my musical taste, this is how one get good at mixing. It`s so fortunate when you can get,or make, good quality, conventional instrument tracks to work with! PS: Thanx so much for all your so complementary words for this mix!!! ---- "For many individuals with mental illness, creativity is a valued and central part of their identity." |
