feeling in a creative mood at the moment, this is a wibbly ambient kind of tune with some laid back beats.

any feedback and comments would be appreciated.

Genesis

using rez, motion, superwave, drumatic and some sampled drums.

Is it me, or is this recorded so soft

Got it all full throtle and still only get say 25% volume

Dunno much Genesis, but this does sound quite good Steve.

i was pretty twatted when i finished this yesterday, i'll have a look at remasterin louder. i wasn't really paying much attention to the mix by the end

i'll mess with it in wavelab this am.

-i think you can take advantage by rehearsing this overall ambiance of perfect harmony ( for instance, by tuning a comb filter effect on the tonic note, or chord, of the suggested scale )

...this ambient aspects reminds me in his way some of the the indian classic musics

My personnal taste make me feel that your drum parts are somehow a bit too powerfull for the music style (too much presence ?...low down middle freq maybe ?)...I regret also that bongos/congas parts are such dry

I'm persuaded that it would have been a real bargain if you had mixed (discreetly and momentarily, of course !) all percussive part with a very huge "room sized" reverb or IR , i think it would have blend wonderfully with the harmonical landscape you've created

-this is however a peaceful and mysterious piece of music

I feel like i would have been on a sunny day of summer sitting on the grass of the top of a small mountain, watching down to the green valley , a few clouds moving very slowly to an endless horizon...

( this sounds closer to Brian Eno rather than Genesis though...)

as i had previously said, i was a bit twatted when i recorded this and i was more interested in the feel, than the technical aspect of the mix.

I agree that the bongos are very dry, i have the through a reverb but i obviously didn't turn it up high enough. ia m probably going to remaster this and apply a bigger reverb on the drums as well as boosting the overall level.

with regards to the genesis in the title, it apply more to the feel i was going for ie. slow creationary kind of tune that keeps evolving, rather than peter gabriel, phil collins et al.

thanks again for the feeback,have another listen when it's remixed and let me know whether you like the drums more.
