Cantabile 3 stability

I have a rare few months off gigs, and I've been wondering if now would be a good time to make the transition from Cantabile 2 to 3 for my live rig. I know v3 is still beta, but it feels pretty solid from my experimentation with it, and a lot of the v2 functionality is available now in v3.

Just wondering if anyone has made the leap to using v3 yet for important shows, and if so what your experiences might be.

Hi Neil,

as you I'm tempted to use C3 for coming shows as so many important functions and improvements are implemented. But at least there are still parts missing I don't want to resign - f.e. controlling sessions by MIDI-program changes, triggers and last not least assignments which will be in the next release are missing for me.

Nevertheless I did some tests with larger setups (15-20 plugs including RAM- and CPU-hungry ones) and also run-times of several hours made it without crashes or other oddities.

So from the stability point of view I only can tell the best. What only brad can answer is the question of compatibility of setups produced today with newer releases.

Thanks for your perspective Humphrey. I agree, control of sessions via program changes and triggers are particularly important - not sure I can gig without triggers actually.

Great to hear of the stability you've seen with larger setups - I intend to do some testing of my own on large setups when I get chance. However, I think until we have triggers I'm going to have to stick with C2 with my full setup, which means I can't devote much time to C3 sadly.

I feel very optimistic about C3 stability!

Cheers,
