I discovered the alien command is bugged, and won't work on files
containing a tilda character, as some GIT releases do. The non-git Carla
did work, although u-he vst gui were placed in the upper left corner,
immovable. This has been fixed now, downstream.

This link below has some binaries in a tarball, expand, and click the carla icon
in the folder to run it. Also has an .iso of the kxstudio project,
I think it boots into a kde4 ubuntu desktop, with the studio under the hood.

Completely off topic but I did think it was interesting in the new Arturia Audiofuse video they released at NAMM this week specifically listed Linux as supported. Will be interesting to see if the software that ships with it is supported as well.

I had emailed them when the Bitwig combo came back and they replied they had no intentions of supporting Linux, and now 3 months later they have hardware support anyway.

Times are a changin :)
