You are welcome, David! The new bug-fix update is available now.
I spent a lot of time recently with testing and bug fixing on OS X because for some people the program became unstable on OS X 10.9 and 10.10. I think I managed to fix most but not all issues.

Crash dumps are very helpful in locating bugs, so please send them to me in e-mail.

Didn't you mean to publish 2.9, isn't 2.84 a step backwards? Or are the betas on a different numbering scale?

v2.9 will contain many new features, some of them are in the works. This update was meant to fix bugs in the v2.8 release.
Yes, the beta versions are 2.9b...

1. add track
2. use Aria Vsti and set instrument
3. add a phrase
4. change phrase
5. Hit "ctrl-Z"

Result:
> Phrase "undo" works OK;
> Aria Vsti resets to "default" (which is empty)

My system:
HP Laptop
Windows 7 Pro (64-bit)
I5 processor
4 gig ram

Aria v1.620 (x64)
Rapid Composer v2.84-x64

Hi lulukom,
this is not a beta version, but a normal release, available to everyone. So you can either click on 'Check For Updates', and download it from the program, or use the usual download links that I last sent you in the announcement of v2.8.

Hi Walt,

welcome to this forum!

Thank you for including the steps.
Using the same version of Aria, 'undo' did not reset its state on my Win7-x64 PC.

However after further checking I realized that RC does not detect the program change in Aria, therefore it won't save and restore its state. This issue is fixed now and will be included in the next beta version, available to all registered users.

The 'undo' handling was reworked recently to avoid unnecessarily storing and restoring VST plug-in states, which took a lot of time, and was annoying.

Hi, Attila,
first of all - thanks for a new very useful Melody Harmonization tool, - I just checked it very briefly using your template and it worked just as you described in your tutorial

However, I suddenly detected new & very unpleasant problem with new beta version:
each time I begin to edit/modify any phrase in Phrase Editor, after I click on ANY of notes inside the editor (my initial purpose was just to change some note's velocities) RC hangs and doesn't want to work further

Please, check it and try to fix that problem!

I still have not tested the plugin VST 2.84 and I used stаndalone variant but the plugin in all my programs leads to hang the host of the program!
2.84 MAC (yet another version is not) Please correct the problem!

sorry about the issue, I made an internal change in the beta version and that caused a deadlock. It is fixed now, so you can download beta3.

Hi lulukom,

a nasty bug slipped into the v2.84 OS X version, I feel terrible about it. Basically it made the VST plug-in hanging in all hosts (the same code worked in the standalone version). This bug was fixed today, when I tested the VST plug-in on OS X under several hosts to make sure everything would work. Please re-download v2.84 - the version number remained the same but the build date should be today (March 11th).
I'll build the beta version for OS X tomorrow.
