Metel, eh?
So what's the MOST metal instrument? That's right:
(Well, it's a close thing with the Sousaphone, but let's not go there!) And who's the MOST metal vocalist? That's right:
Unfortunatley, Mickey Dolenz has him a very restrictive contract, but I managed to get Anal Ogx from the Finnish Skunk Metal band Sa Yit, who sounds very much like Metal Mickey. Anal's accent is rather strong, so to help, here are the lyrix: Anal Ogx wrote: It's been one of those days
When I'm all in a haze And it's all going Crazy Open your eyes And it's no surprise That I've got BAD VIBES Get it while it's hot: Bad Vibes Produced with stuff, and a few plug ins, recorded and mastered in NTrack DSP |

Okay.
I went for the Sabbathy/stoner thing. Anima Anceps The lyrics are *very* freely adapted from a poem called "Anima Anceps" by A.C. Swinburne, hence the excellent Metel© sounding title. Not a lot of vsti's on this one, just drums really, though there are a bunch of fx and stuff...so, it's still very vst dependant, having been made in cubase and all. Hope you like it. Cheers! -S. ---- ![]() |

I had to wait until Studio A was free to do the vocals (I mean until the house was empty). This is a supernaturalheavymetalmotorpsychoballad. Keys to the Highway It started in the bar room, a simple game of chance It ended in the alley of the Friday night dance Last man standing wins and the winner takes all I won the keys to the highway, but the Devil took my soul. The dance hall was crowded but the alleyway was dim Among the broken glass and garbage there was only me and him He pulled a blade that meant business with a look that meant kill Then suddenly he froze, as if time itself stood still The prize stood in the alley, moonlight glinting on the chrome There was a stranger in the shadows though I’d swear we’d been alone I heard his voice in my head and it made my blood run cold He said, “To you the spoils of battle – but I get your soul.” He vanished and the fight was on, we slowly circled round The first move I made I kicked his Harley to the ground He dropped his guard and looked away, I jumped him from behind Bone smashed on metal, and victory was mine. I pulled the Hog to its wheels and I rode into the night There’s been many miles of lonely road since that fatal fight I’m cursed to keep travelling, never find a home I won the keys to the highway, but the Devil took my soul. ---- ![]() |

Never done Metal before, and after you've heard this I'm sure you'll say I still haven't Anyway, here's the ScarKord entry, complete with vocals (of sorts) distorted to buggery through a Boss Distortion pedal and barely comprehensible. And it's even got a crowbar or two in there, so I'd say that's metal enough! Time for the Fear Lyrics... Running Scared Be afraid Don’t look back I’m on my way I’m catching up Don’t fall behind You feel my breath I’ll take your mind Running Scared Some might say You’d better run The hell away Check the clock You’re out of time I’m catching up I’ll take your mind Time for the fear.... Huh! Last edited by ScarKord on Thu Jul 15, 2004 1:49 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Ok guys..here's my 1st track on KvR. Some words are in order first.
I was in a band about ten years ago that was deemed the 'Kings of Sludge Core' in Maxumm Rock & Roll. For those not familiar with Sludge Core, I refer you to underground legends such as Godflesh, Pitchshifter, & Scorn. I assure you, the reader, that while these bands practiced a very unorthodox method at the time of instrument use & songwriting, they were at one point the heaviest groups on the f**king planet, & thier influence is still felt today heavily by many. A nod to those in the know. In the spirit of that style of Metel, conventional use of guitar has been eliminated. Anyways, things were really about to take off for us, then I was abruptly kicked out of the band days before we signed to Bovine records. When the album was released, I found that almost half the tracks were mine. Not to mention the main guy in the band had been my best friend for nearly 10 years. I never spoke to him again. So I walked away from music, particularly collaborating, till very recently, which I've been doing quitely behind the scenes. I was a guitarist/bassist back in the day, but the power of Digital Audio has led me to experiment with other instruments, which only now are being brought under heel for me. While I'm enjoying working again with other's, this track is all me; I just wrote it yesterday. I would like to thank some ppl for giving me the feedback & encouragement I needed to upload something to the public domain; without these individuals, you would probably never, ever, hear ANYTHING I have done ,or will ever do. It took me over a decade to get past the betrayal I experienced at the hands of someone I trusted, hence this track's title, which is dedicated to him; Steve B____s. May you rot in f**king hell, Steve. I'm still here. Special thanks to: Vurt ew endmusik Donkey Tugger T-Willy Spe3D I would like to give thanks Ben & KvR in general for giving me a new lease in the music making arena, without this site & everyone that comes here, I would not be making music again. Period. The Host: Orion Platinum 5.5 (Thanks for making the best music creation tool ever, Richard.) The instruments: Screamer - Orion Platinum exclusive instrument Absynth 2 Bazzoid Exciton 2 Battery XR-909 - Orion exclusive instrument The FX: Fruity blood overdrive (thanks to Sahsa Frank) MDA roundpan Classic series EQ Retro Delay (thank god for that f**king panic button) Stereo delay - Orion native plug Platinum reverb - Orion native plug Endorphin TLs Maximizer (why did I wait so long to start using that one..) Anyways, I get no glory here, it goes to all those mentioned above, & you, the listener. Enjoy. scorned Sorry for the speech, but it means alot to me to be back in the mix, even if I have a long way to go. Be on the look-out for a re-mixed, extended version of this track here in the music cafe sometime next week, as I'm in the process of collaboration with a few very talented artists who can help take this track to where I really want it to be. edit: link fixed |

Was churning presets and well ... just stitched some files together and voilà !
The vox is spot on, the drums just fabulous and the mixing is downright unquestionable !!
WARNING : BRUTAL BEGINNING !! ( you were warned ) It gets softer afterwards ... Python Pro, Six Strings, Amper ( Creamware weaponry ) I don't aim for 0 vote again, I aim for negative votes this time !! My guitar skills are improving, I'am not using the mouse anymore but still aftertouch and the pitchbend / modwheel |

hey hey what have we here, one of the pop shysters enters the metel contest. Rattlesnake Pills ... cooked up in a night just for a laugh... I don't know how the donkey does it, it's killing me to posts this without obessing over the mix... I don't think it's much good, but I've given myself grammatically-incorrect umlauts to celebrate anyway. -Gärrët |

been over a year since I joined in the contest endmusik studios proudly presents - Refused - the byproduct of listening to a little too much godflesh this weekend, but I'm not sure how much it shows - http://endmusik.com/Audio/7_04_endmusik_refused.mp3 kit: Best of Boulder classical guitar fed through Banaan Electrique and bitcrusher, Absynth, an 808 kit, and vocals done through an sm-57 with the RNC/bluetube combo for that tasty "tube overdrive" feel
lyrics: Refused refused to be alone with you refused harvesting my thoughts like insects refused to be alone with you refused to be next to you refused to be alone with you refused crawling crawling back to me crawling crawling back to me crawling crawling back to me crawling crawling back to me crawling crawling back to me refused to be near you refused to be near you pushing you down where you came from |
