Thanks for the first tier support, and you're welcome for the VST. Once the dust settles a bit after this initial release, I look forward to diving back into the code to fix bugs and add some new features I have in mind.r4dio wrote: then just click the play/stop button of each patch, works for me..(talking about the vst version)..
by the way, thanks for this vst!!
In the mean time, the first tutorial video is on its way. I finished the script, and my voice actor is having a look at it this weekend (my own voice is not what you'd call "sonigenic"). We hope to have it posted by early next week on the Darwin Arts site.

Thanks kasjonc, I'm sure your voice is fine, unless you're really, really tired.

The trapped spider is eaten inside from the wasp's kids while it's still alive... That's like in those alien movies!

hmmm.... if I don't believe in Evolution, can I still use this synth? Oh, that's right - there's a trilobite in the first Godzilla movie, so it's cool!

I hate to leave this discussion on an "I don't believe in Evolution" note. If you really don't believe in Evolution (and I suspect you're kidding), it's either an indication of an extremely shoddy education or some kind of creepy religious indoctrination--arguably the same thing. By all means, use the synth, and hopefully you'll learn something from it.

hmmm, seemed like a pointless post in the first place or perhaps it was humor ? if so a smiley or something would have helped make it apparent.

Hi RunBeerRun,
Unfortunately, the lack of midi note input on Trilobite is a known bug for the plugin versions...we'll have to resolve it with the Trilobite 1.0 by releasing separate VST and iVST versions (and something similar for Audio Units)...unless a new standard embracing "effect instruments" comes up in the mean time. That's doubtful.
If it's any consolation, midi note input to the standalone versions seems to work quite well.
In the mean time, we have released a few tutorial videos on the Darwin Arts YouTube channel (the patch editing video just released this morning):
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCy_vdN ... 7t9YcAy0DQ
Once we release the third tutorial on the topic of evolving new patches, the plan of record is to go dark for a while to get the next version cranked out.
Regards,
Wayne

Trilobite 1.0 (aka the “Professional Edition”) is a software modular synthesizer which brings unique augmentation to the creative process. Using the same natural phenomena that brought you jellyfish, the platypus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and yourself, this synth exploits Darwinian Natural Selection to help you create radically bizarre new sounds from simple basic acoustic building blocks. Trilobite’s visual editor allows you to construct custom synthesis patches to create drones, keyboard instruments, effects…you name it! Once you’ve created a custom instrument, you can then use the Evolution Engine to explore thousands of derivative possibilities, and even breed your new patch with others that you love.
The included plugin versions of Trilobite feature much better plugin integration with most commercial DAWs, and feature new automated midi track mapping to allow immediate use of keyboards and track automation without the tedious step of manual mapping.
This version builds upon the earlier beta edition by adding a number of new audio building block modules to further extend the acoustic possibilities, including:
Value and Time Sequencers
Random Noise Generator
Signal Router
Sample Hold
Pulse Width Modulator
…and the Tweaker, 12 weird effects in one
The Trilobite installers include both plugin and desktop application versions, as well as over three hundred demonstration and concept patches in six different banks.
Trilobite 1.0 is also available as a feature-limited free version, if you prefer to try before you buy. Visit our Free Downloads page to get your copy (available for download by site-members only, no product registration necessary).

The tweaker effects look very cool,
I'm not really sure if Trilobite allows external signals to be processed as this would be sweet

To confirm, it can process external audio!VariKusBrainZ wrote:The tweaker effects look very cool,

This should be interesting with the Tweaker effects such as cross convolution
