Hi, does anybody know of an iPad control app for Bitwig? I love Livkontrol or TouchAble for Ableton, makes so much more sense to me than a Launchpad as i can see the track names and levels and whatever else on the screen so i don't have to be in fron of my PC to see which clip i'm triggering.

there is the touchOSC script by Thomas Helzle :
http://www.bitwig.com/en/community/cont ... osc_1.html
and if you like to dig into the Lemur App, i got the same controls like the touchOSC (since its based on it) for the Lemur iPad App here:
https://github.com/Suloo/liine_lemur
currently fixing the clip launcher, update will be there in an hour or so..
so, make sure to check out the stuff lemur is actualy able to do, physics engine, canvas object step sequencing..just an example. But its deep, that script only coveres the basic control surface of Bitwig, but more will come to the Lemur script for sure..
Also the Lemur App dropped in price approx by 50%, since when i bought it..
cheers Mark

Hi, thanks for the reply - i downloaded both TouchOSC and Lemur and wow...i consider myself quite computer-savvy but this goes WAY across my head...Livekontrol was a breeze to set up and so was TouchAble. Simply downloading and installing a server application and setting it as an input in Ableton, that's it.
I'm sure TouchOSC and Lemur can do a lot more stuff but i'm too stupid to install this stuff. I'll mail Apple to give me back my money for the two apps and wait for something easier to handle...
Thanks anyway and good luck with your script.

I tried the Touch Osc one and its not useable for me because the latency is huge. I have the latest mac book pro latest bitwig, ipad 2 or 3 and am on Yosemite and my network is 120 mg broadband. In addition to the latency as per usual half of the time it didnt want to work. I used the Lemur one and the latecy was significantly reduced enough to make it really useful. But the two way communication is broken - the ipad does not display clips or any changes made inside ableton basically, however ableton responds to ipad changes. Also in addition to that half the flipping time Lemur does not want to work. I dont really want to spend 20 minutes at the beginning of every session trouble shooting a f**king network. Since I upgraded to Yosemite all my ipad controller apps became completely unstable. I was using simillar ones with Ableton. Its a nightmare. They are all f**king useless.

If you are talking about Lemur4Bitwig then it obviously won't work with Ableton, since its not Lemur4Ableton. Since the latest update Lemur4Bitwig is stable and bidirectional communication works fine.richielg wrote:But the two way communication is broken - the ipad does not display clips or any changes made inside ableton basically, however ableton responds to ipad changes.
Not sure what the problem is with yosemite, but usually you just need to put your Mac IP into Lemur and your Lemur IP into Bitwig. Both using port 8000. Usually that's all what is needed. Problems appear when you are using a firewall and block udp connection.richielg wrote: Also in addition to that half the flipping time Lemur does not want to work. If you can be more specific we might be able to help out.
cheers

I figured it out the two way communication thing was my fault lol. It wasn't as temperamental as I thought. When I used Ableton I had touchable and others working perfectly and I upgraded to Yosemite and they were all became really unreliable. Such is not the case with Lemur 4 Bigwig - or at least so far so good.
However when I use the XY pads I can assign the first one no problem, but when I assign a second one and start moving it around, once I release the pressure the xy thing always jumps to the extreme corners. Usually the upper right corner of the box. The first xy pad is fine but it behaves like this on all of them after that.
I tried the Nexus template on the iPad and it doest do this behaviour at all it works fine. I quite like the larger xy's that you get using this version on the iPad - But I want the iPad version working properly as well.
I want to try and figure out away to have additional XY tabs for example having 4 xy tabs giving a total of 16 xy pads. I got as far as copying the project - xy folder in the lemur editor and realised that this duplicated the xy tab in the lemur app. But the additional xy's were not assignable. I dug around a bit but I think this might take me a while. I've done some stuff in max before so hoping its not too difficult. Any pointers would be welcome.
Cheers
