I've been looking myself, but haven't bought yet. Research is pointing to the Acer T232HL http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824009719 as a good option. Would be curious to hear about any others' actual experiences, too.
Studio One Pro 3.3 and PT 12.6 on Win 8.1 Pro, i7-3930k, Sabertooth x79, 16GB G.Skill 2133, Lynx Hilo, Eleven Rack, Chandler TG2, Liquid Channel, Mojave MA-200, Focal CMS65s. Oh, and a "few" guitars...

I am looking too and found out this one looks really great and it has pen support with 256 levels of pressure:

Thank you,

I'll let you know if I make any purchases.

Something that confuses me - Are all these touch screens usable with a stylus like the new one that comes with the surface? Same question goes for these screens as for touch enabled laptops. Do digital pens always work with them?

Post

no, these two things are two different technologies. So stylus wont work on any touch-screen since it doesnt have the "stylus" technology. Though there is these fake-pens that acts like a finger on a touch-screen.. but thats another story and not nearly as good.

But they do sell external monitors that can use a pen or finger right? That's not limited to just windows tablets right?

There is some bluetooth pens though, that work like the capacitive "fake-pen" you are talking about with pressure level sent via bluetooth. But I have only ever tried this on a Galaxy Tab and iPad, not a PC with touch.

When it's done well it could really heighten the experience.

I could be wrong, but as I do percieve it, touchscreens are foremost used as a graphic design tool atm:
