I wrote this for the "science-fiction movie" compo where it was going to be the theme from "Robots in Love", but couldn't do the big-band arrangment in time (and probably still couldn't)
hope it doesn't cause any ear damage:
shut me down
--------------------------------
"shut me down"
(C) 2004 Kevin R. Fortin of Gainesville, FL
--------------------------------
walking through magnetic fields
what was I thinking?
forgot to activate my shields
I caught you winking at me
shut me down
I can't stop thinking of you
you turn me on
could it be that I love you?
my datagrid is di-lating
an unexpected conduit
has got my system vi-brating
there's a current running through it
shut me down
I can't stop thinking of you
you turn me on
I believe I might love you
you derange my computations
let's decorate the sky
you exceed all specifications
now the sparks are starting to fly
shut me down
I can't stop thinking of you
you turn me on
and I'm pretty sure I love you
yeah I'm pretty sure I do
[robotic big-band vocal] shut me down -- a capella
