the problem i see too and i first wonder what happen

i notice do a phrase and add variation double phrase. now double click phrase in composing win so go to phrase editor. now click on Apply changes in phrase editor. the phrase in composition later still have the variation in and play more faster

This is the expected behaviour. You edit the original phrase without variations. When you finished editing "Double Phrase" will still be applied to the phrase, which you can turn off if you want.

Before editing:
Phrase -> Variation (Double Phrase) -> you see the final 'doubled' phrase on the workspace
After editing 'Phrase':
Edited Phrase -> Variation (Double Phrase) -> you still see a 'doubled' phrase on the workspace, the variation was not removed

I am shocked ; editing indeed did not work as expected for phrase generators. I did not realize that. This stupid bug is fixed now.

Now that evrything is fine in my workflow (thanks again attila for that freestyle thing ) time for some more crazy ideas for the idea tool

I know I am not really knowing what I am talking about otherwise I sure wont ask, but:

- wouldnt it be great to have the possibility to kind of structure the "add new part" in the idea tool in a song-structure way ?

- what I mean is having the ability not to just "add new part" but "add new intro", "add new verse", "add new chorus" etc.

- I know there will be tons of variables behind such an "easy button" that have to consider all the settings in the idea tool and tracks but maybe start simple with just a few (in possible in general)

- I would not have the demand to make any settings for this, just a "black box" would be great for a start

- only comparable thing I know is in some drum vst (like jamstix) but not for such complex things like in RC

Concerning imports 10 channel ...
1. It is not always the drums have 10 channel
2. Some of the tracks, necessary at once merge into one when importing!
3. Split the tracks (not drums)need setting separation boundary (eg C3)

there is a velocity generator in RC, but i think a gater that use velocity 7 controller is usefull too. it can use rythms from rythm browser. a gater give nice sounding rythm to music in long notes

arranger keyboards have for their melody part a auto harmonize feature. this add some notes depend on chords to the melody play in realtime. all arranger keyboards have this with many option. 5th is easy see what it do. it add a note at fifth. what other really do i do not know. maybe somebody with a arranger can tell what it do Harmonization type. for example korg have this settings.

I'd really like to be able to use the generators for the development of ready-made phrases, not only to generate new phrases.
Especially as long as the generators do not take into account the style of performance.
What are we going to generate? Blues, house or techno?) Let the program do not think for us, and helps develop our music!

Machine learning / neural networks ... no idea what would be involved, though that would be an interesting area to consider.

Wonderful idea, added to the to-do list. It is not difficult to do.

Interesting. I found a korg manual on the net, but only the simpler options (adding an octave, fifths or fourths) are explained. I should see what the others do in a MIDI file. This is also a great idea for a variation.

Hi Attila rename a phrase and the mark of a ghost phrase to see immidiatly if it is ghost phrase are small usefull enhancents other software often have too and make the overview in larger songs better.
