Is it possible to rename VST plugins instances?

Like if have 3 Kontakt players on a project, rename them to kontak1, kontakt2, kontakt3..

Hmm... I'm not sure. If it is just a matter of the DAW lacking the functionality, there may be a way to manually rename the instance names of plug-ins. For a given edit file, open the file in a text editor and find/replace the text values (the text values will probably be enclosed between double quotes) of the plug-in instances you wish to rename.
Be sure to make a backup copy of the edit file before doing any text editing; that way if you mess up badly, you will still have an unmodified copy to revert back to (and give it another go if you want).
