PS: I believe firmly in sow and reap and would like to see more participation from those that do post tunes here to invest a little more time into commenting on other's tunes. I see too many just post their own tunes wanting feedback and not giving any on others tunes. We all want to be heard and helped through feedback.

I think categories might help in this case, because people tend to review genres they like and most people don't want to download a file if they don't know what the genre is

And PS:

I tried and conformed to the [stylus] thingy and I am dropping it again. I think it's making things more chaotic then it is making things easier.

The thread title should be catchy and to the point. You can always put in the post itself what kind of music it is.

But then, that's my thoughts on the cake.

Errrrrrrr... icing :P

i tend to agree, you can't see any of the titles properly and the list looks a mess.

plus, i had a comment the other day on one of my tunes that my categorisation of the track had nearly put them off, but they dl'd it anyway and really enjoyed it.

although i appreciate that some people have slow connections etc, and therefore have to be picky about what they dl'd, it can't be a good thing if it stops you hearing tunes you actually enjoy.

anyway, half the fun is listening to stuff you wouldn't otherwise listen to. i have plenty of cd's from my favourite bands, but when i'm listening to stuff in the cafe it's for different reasons. i listened to some [TubeCore] and [ChaosCore] the other day, if i'd known what those genres represented i might not have bothered, but in the end it was interesting experience.

edit: i listen to most stuff in the cafe, i don't always review and sometimes it's only a one liner (we can't all be Mystarh) but it's still nice to listen, even if it's not really YCOT you can still find things in the production/mix/playing skill that you like (or even, dislike)

cheers,

steve.

wouldn't it be nice if more people
had that attitude ;)

it could be done in a more simpler way than trying to keep up with the ever fragmenting
split sub genremare.

Dance & Urban.
Rock & Pop.
Jazz & World.
Electronic.
Other.

Agreed

I also agree.

a step even further than that is what I have been trying to do lately is actually play on peoples music.

that is one amazing thing that many take for granted.

not so long ago we could only dream of the chance to record with so many great musicians that we never actually met before :-o

i'd like to see an online session room.

dont forget this u.k guys

and you will even get paid :)
if the stuff gets released.
