Hey nice track.
A little different from your usually more main stream work.
And I think most will agree that this is a good thing.
It makes the music more interesting.

Thanks Andrew for the feedback. I am only starting to find my way musically again after a 15 year break. I think listening to a lot of the music and experimental stuff here at KvR is rubbing off on me :) (I say that in a positive way).

I have many, many more ideas inside my head, in my DAW, on the drawing board and over the next 12 months you'll see quite a diverse offering from me. I hate being "mainstream".

But you've got to eat the cheese before you can taste the wine

I don't remember how long it is since I have heard such an 'Off The Wall' track, filled with mixed moods and metaphors! 8)

With apologies to vurt (couldn't resist that one mate) :D

The blend of Requiem Mass Vocals, an acoustic sounding driving rhythm, guitars and piano, with textures weaving in and out. Very evocative ...

Surely a stroke of genius eh Koorby ? - Please don't disappoint us and say that it was something much more mundane (like a chance find of a demo sequence or something), rather than divine inspiration - ... :?

Two questions Koorby;

"Kyrie eleison" - which is Latin for; "Lord have mercy upon us"...

Q1: Are we to soon expect to see the following posted on KvR, to complete the Mass. That is : - Offertory; Sanctus; Pie Jiesu; Agnus Dei; Libera Me; In Paradism; etc. etc...

or

Q2: Back to the "Lord Have mercy upon us" bit:

Are we that deeply in need of His mercy, because of our wayward lifestyles, that you've been chosen as our 'Mass Voice' to plead His mercy on all our behalf ... :D :D

Hey Bags, I detect a hint of sarcasm here? :) To make you happy though, I'll plead mercy for your soul only ok mate?

very good, excellent production.

not too keen on the melting of gregorian monks and new-agish layers... reminds me Enigma... :scared:
From a sombre corner of my mind.

well, you're still brighter than a lot of souls...
if you really want to go dark, try again :P

Thanks Wopelka. To be honest, this track was me just playing around with my new toy, SOV. Took me a total of 25 minutes to put this together. I'd like to develop it further one day, put some orchestral stuff in there or further down the mix.

Thanks for listening though.

Right now, I am distracted with my shiny new Sonik Synth 2 :D

25 minutes!!?! BS, no way! (no disrespect intended). Man, it would take me 25 mins just to boot up my PC and fire up Cubase

I have to hand it to you Koorbs, that's mighty quick work. Sure there's no exaggeration there? :)

Yes, I did exaggerate. I am a marketing exec after all, it's my job :D

Truth be told I spent 20 mins on the Wavestation pads, another 45 mins on the choir, 10 minutes on the piano, and another 15 mins on the guitar. Then mixing, mastering another 20 mins - so all up about 2+ hours.

But 25 minutes sounded a lot cooler :)
