How to start MIDI recording on an empty track?

Hi all,

I'm a bit new to RC and I'm struggling starting MIDI recording on an empty track. Is that possible at all? Or must there always be an empty phrase or something else to record into?

Hi raezz,

you can record into any track (empty or not). For this you need to select the track, and press the REC button. A new phrase is created for the recording.
Please note in the latest beta version it is possible to start recording by pressing a key on your MIDI keyboard (assign a MIDI note event to any function with keyboard shortcuts).

It is possible to record a phrase into the Phrase Editor. Here the first MIDI event starts the recording, which is stopped automatically after you released all keys and a few seconds elapsed.

thank you for your reply. I just tried it again and yes, it works! I don't know what I missed the first few times.
