Been trying out different speaker sims and IR loaders. Came across Celestion Speaker Shaper and Mikko along with a few IR loaders. What are you using or have tried lately that you were impressed with ?

Started a similar thread a couple days ago, if you're interested to read viewtopic.php?p=8830232
It looks like this topic doesn't trigger many answers, but in the meanwhile I did more comparisons and bought more stuff... partly answering my own question. Hope it is partly useful.
I'm very impressed with York Audio and ML Sound Lab and still love my RedWirez Big Box IRs.

As for IR Loaders, I have tested many of them and got them to basically null against each other.
Voxengo Boogex is still great for mono tracks with a single impulse, Fractal Cab Lab 4 is fantastic for a free plugin/app and can load up to 4 IRs (check it out, in my opinion it's the best free IR loader), it's actually replacing MixIR3, which I paid for.
Cabinetron is just in a league of its own. I'll end up getting that, possibly replacing them all.

I’m curious about UAD’s new pedal. I’m not going to go ITB for it, but I’d like to see it become a plugin.

Mikko is priced very high, but I read it includes 38 cabinets.MeanMrMustard wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 3:15 pmThanks I checked out Cabinetron, looks interesting. Downloaded the demo, but haven't had a chance to try yet. Miko looked good too, but the price is crazy.
No clue if it is a selection from the packs or all captures, or if purchased IR packs can be used in the free version (would be great for those interested in just a few cabs like me). Didn't explore much yet.
ML does sales like anyone else, around BF and Xmas IR packs were 50% off and Mikko was also discounted, hold your horses if you're not in a hurry.
About IRs I'm exploring the 2 packs I got from York Audio (Mesa Trad and Marshall 1960A T75), which I like a lot. Current plan is to add a couple more York and ML for the cabs I'm most interested in (Mesa, Marshall, Engl, Ampeg for bass). And use RedWirez in case I need some more exotic (for me ) cab.
I'm surprised these still hold so well (it's v1), they usually sound less 'surprising', very smooth and flat compared to others, causing alternate impressions, but they are pretty 'malleable' and can sound awesome with some treatment. The amount of captures is scary though.

This looks very similar to Cabinetron. Check out the demo.

Oh, yes, I know Libra. Have quite a few STL and have followed Ignite Amps development for a few years now (Emissary is one mean amp!).
To be honest, Cabinetron pretty much took the cartesian mixer idea from there, but the auto align and mutation functions are what makes me want it instead of Libra.
I played a bit more with the free Mikko2 (5 Mesa OS mic captures). It sounds sick and it has a pretty smart implementation / layout.
I'll stick to the plan and get 3/4 ML IR packs and keep the York IRs (also got Mesa OS and Ampeg in the meanwhile) for an added flavour. Super happy with what's coming out.
