I have an epiano track that I want to chop into glitchy fragments, but keep the harmonic character. There are a lot of good (free) gating plugs, but the ones I'm aware of all sync to tempo. I'm looking for something random/unpredictable.
Any ideas?

High kudos to Smart as well. But also check out Kraklis new Gate XOR. It's like 4 Scrubby's in 1!
