Hello all,
we may have confused a few people at musicFAQ's site, so I'm up here to let you know that the contest for a free license of ConcreteFX Kubik has a deadline of February 2, 2005, not the January deadline. Sorry about that, the site has been changed to reflect this information. HansM wrote: That's good to know, although it would have been better if you had let us now *before* the deadline had passed. IMO the deadline of Jan 2 had included a long enough period to finish a song for this contest.
--HansM It HAD been extended earlier due to the confusion of what was allowed, alternate prizes for Kubik owners, etc;but Bruce forgot to change the page on the site(he's a very busy guy),and I didn't notice until today The other guy at musicFAQ, ew |

Maybe you don't want this thread to get consumed by questions and whatnot since it's just an announcement, but: Why are recordings of vocals and real instruments allowed but not multi-sampled instruments? The concept's the same, but it's sort of unfair to people without a microphone |

Howdy. Here's the deal.
Since the Kubik demo is not able to save and you lose your work after the first session most people wouldn't have time to keep a song together and render it to audio. So we decided on 90 seconds but discussed this with Jon at ConcreteFX and he agreed we should change rules a bit. The rules are somewhat a cross between what was the original and new rules. You can use other VST instruments. We really don't want music loops, ala ACID/LIVE used. That's what is meant by the discussion of samples. Vocals, guitar/bass/any "real" instrument is ok and encouraged to use along with drum parts (loops here are ok though drums should be easy to produce with any drum synth, but we won't argue on this.) Hope this makes more sense. HansM None of these questions were asked when the site changed the rules. That was a month ago. I'm sorry you didn't catch it before but we are trying to be generous by extending the contest. These things questioned here haven't been mentionened until now. But at least you know at this point. To all else, please email me if you have questions. ---- Reviews http://www.musicfaq.net Selected tracks from new album TRAUMA : http://netnewmusic.ning.com/profile/BSatinover |

Bruce, what makes you think this? http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=63914&start=0 You never replied to the questions in the thread you started on your own and now you are pretending they have never been asked. What a mess... |

Wait - you can't save with the Kubik demo?
I can. Hm... it just cuts out after a while, doesn't it? |
