Hi Folks !

I bought few month ago the Midi-Controller BCF2000 and BCR2000 from Behringer to control my Mixer, Effects and VST-Plugins in Cubase SX.
At first i tried to put the BCF into the MackieMode and use the BCF for my VST-Instruments. The MackieMode from the BCF works fine but there are a lot of Shift-Functions which are not so cool. The BCF doesn't have a MackieControl Mode, so i had to program each VST-Instrument and Effect into a General Remote in Cubase SX. Shit work!!!
But then i found out, while i was producing, that the workflow wasn't that what i am looking for. And I couldn't use other Presets from the BCF, because in the MackieMode the Buttons are otherwise in use.
So yesterday night i figured out to use both controllers in MackieMode in Cubase but as a simple Preset. And wow it fits. For each controller there is a emulated MackieControl LCD. This helps you to find easier what you want.

There are two pdf-files with the allocation, the sysex-files for both machines and the LCD emulation calls huskervu (It doesn't fit with the BCView from Behringer). It is a fake Mackie MCU display, designed to use with fake MCU controllers without an LCD. Windows XP/2003 only sorry.
You'll need the .NET Framework 1.1 installed to run it. If you don't have it, you'll need to download it from Microsoft (23MB). The huskervu installer will tell you if you don't have it already.
You'll also need a virtual midi port driver like MidiYoke installed http://www.midiox.com

Once installed, you'll find huskervu under Start/Programs/husker.

huskervu puts an icon in the System Tray/Notification Area, you can access the menu from there, or from the huskervu display itself.

Select a Midi Input. This should be one of your virtual midi ports (like Midi Yoke NT:1).

Select a Midi Ouput. This should be BCR2000.

The open a second huskervu

Select a Midi Input. This should be one of your virtual midi ports (like Midi Yoke NT:2).

Select a Midi Ouput. This should be BCF2000.

You can set the display size to anything that suits (from very tiny to very large), then set a font that fits. You can drag the display to a second monitor too.

In your host, configure your MCU device as follows:

In the Cubase Remote Control insert to MackieControl.

The first MackieControl:

Input: BCR2000
Output: Midi Yoke NT:1

The second MackieControl:

Input: BCF2000
Output: Midi Yoke NT:2

And then it's it ready to rock....

I've done all of what you said too do, but Cubase doesn't seem to be acknowleding them in Mackie mode(Huskervu doesn't show the channels etc either)(They work fine in Generic remote- My BCR is chained to the BCF btw, through MIDI, will it still work the same? They tend to act as a unit together.. 1 input 2 outputs, Either way they're not being recognised), they don't show any controls in the Mackie control mode Controls bit...

What i did was, send the Sysex to the Controllers, installed the Huskervu and then aligned the outputs in the Mackie control section in Cubase.. Nothings happened? What am i doing wrong?

PS: It does actually appear to work(BCF)... But 1. The faders don't automatically move to where the faders are on the mixer and 2. Moving a fader on the BCF moves 2 channels at a time..

Hi Agility,

i plug both controller separate via usb. The BCF is in USB-Mode 1, the BCR in USB-Mode 2. Then you must have 2 controllers in your Midilist in Cubase called BCF2000 and BCR2000.
Then send the Sysex files for example to Preset 1 of each controller.
You must start both machines in BC-Mode !! Don't start the BCF in Mackie-Emulation Mode.
Then open to Huskervu. Connect them like i explained above.
After that open Cubase got to the remote chapter. Click on the Plus and select Mackie Control. MIDI-Input: BCR2000 MIDI-Output: MIDI YOKE NT:1
Then click again on Plus select another Mackie Control. MIDI-Input: BCF2000 MIDI-Output: MIDI Yoke NT:2

And then rock on

Well, it seems to fit.. I've got a project loaded, but the faders on the BCF were just sitting at 0db because the BCF faders are only working on some channels in Cubase.. eg,, i've got 8 channels im using with sounds in etc and more that are not being used(None are MIDI channels btw)and lots more that are not and they're sitting at 0db, and the BCF only seems to be functioning with them.. Why is that? I hope that made sense, i doubt it did, sorry.

If you have only 8 Channels they are connected to the 8 Faders from the BCF.
If you have 16 Channels. The First 8 are on the BCF the other 8 are on the BCR. The same to Solo, Mute, Select. So you can change things on 16 Channels without press Ch+
If you have more then 16 Channels you have to Press CH + on the BCF. Then you see on the display were the other Channels are.

Look at the PDF, there is the allocation of both machines.

Right, well the Huskervu doesn't appear to be working at all.. I've loaded it and set it up then opened Cubase, but it doesn't show anything and the Faders on the BCF are not responding in Cubase now... The thing is though.. Is the BCF is missing the first 8 channels(starting on the 9th channel, instead of channel 1, in Cubase)BCR is not set up at the mo as im just trying to sort out this first.

Mmmh can you show me some screenshots from your Huskervu (the Midi-Settings) and Cubase- Configuration (Remote). So that I can see what you did. I think I will do a little video of my Screen tonight and post it here. So you can watch it and do the same.

I've solved it, i Believe. I just removed the 2nd Mackie control and now the BCF starts on the first 8 channels!

However, i'm getting errors with Huskervu:

If you only want to use the BCF in Mackie Mode. It is very simple. Start only the machine in Mackie Mode (Hold the second Button of the second row and start the machine).

But my Config is to use both machines in Mackie Mode.

I tested the video it's ok. And I don't know what huskervu-error you mean? I don't have any errors
