when the f**k are people going to realize that for the most part, no host can be considered doing something 'the best' Surprised

'the best' is totally different from one individual to another. 'the best' is what gets the ideas that are in your head saved into the computer, in the fashion that is easiest and least disruptive for YOU, the person using the host.

i have a host that works 'best' for me. i get what i want down in the fastest, most logical, and least creatively disruptive way FOR ME. It thinks like i think, and frees me to do what i'm dreaming of doing. in fact, i've used that very word many many times to describe how i feel about it. it 'frees' me. i've tried almost every other host under the sun. they are all fine and great, and probably 'the best' for lots of people who aren't just like me.... but for me personally none of the others have that freedom effect. they are all more ackward and confusing feeling. mine frees me.

can you put a price on that? it's not the most expensive host, to be sure. but it's far from the cheapest. but can you put a price on that??

so it's the BEST host for me, and some other people too. and that's fine. but what idiot doesn't realize that it's also fine to agree that it's NOT the best host for other people. My friend, who i collaborate with from time to time, really can't get to like it, and he's tried. it doesn't feel like it 'frees and enables' him, and he knows enough about how to use it. That's fine though. He has also found the host that is BEST for him. Who gives a f**k what it is or what he paid for it? Who cares? it's the best one for him.

Sure when we get together we both have to export and render stuff and dump it on each other's computers. That's fine. The time we lose doing that is far, far, far more than made up for by the time savings we enjoy from having hosts that work 'the best' for us, and don't get in our way.

f**k, it's like some watercolor painter saying "f**k man, people who use oil paints are like TOTALLY STUPID MORONS. i tried oil paint and I FUCKIN' HATE IT!! IT SUCKS!!! stupid, bloated, smelly overpriced paint. Oh whatever dummy, go paint with your stupid oil paint, pshaw! I'm totally going to spend tons of my time insulting people who use oil paint whenver the subject is mentioned. Hobbyists in particular. I'm one too and you should be using the exact same f**king paint as me if you don't want to be like a totally idiot dummyhead."

wtf, the best tool is what works for you. I just don't understand all the effort that goes into flaming tools that someone personally doesn't like. who the f**k cares? move along for f**k's sake.

rant over Razz

because i totally agree with the comments in this thread (mostly about the original thread devolving into nonsense):

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1535 83

The replies to this topic have been split into this new thread:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1537 24

And this original thread has been locked. Thanks.
