Caverns part 1 and 2 - Reaktor melancholia

A 2 part piece played with a modified version of a Reaktor ensemble created by Rachmeil called The Vortex Engine. This is a granular ensemble that can be "bowed" using strokes with the mouse rather than a keyboard, which makes for some very expressive sounds. I have used some Cello samples that Fitch provided some time ago as the source. Musically it's very influenced by Lakatos and Henry Cow.

Now that's some strange sonorities.
I really enjoyed the way you got new sounds from pushing the technique of whatever it is that's making those sounds.

This is the kind of song I like to start my day with - brain-teasing temperament like a robot cellist busking for yellow feathers (sorry, vurt).
