It's only a very, very short song (8s) who says only : "Je t'aime" in french language, with 4 notes of guitar.
No religion here, not a word only for a girl, but a sweet thanks to all those I've loved in my life. They 're alive or they're gone in other unknow and cold worlds.
Sorry, I'm ridiculous but it was very important for me.

yeah, and John Zorn's 'Naked City' has couple of 1-2 second tracks too! Haven't heard it in years!

I'm sure there are shorter tracks out there somewhere, but this is the one that made the Guinness Book of World Records.

That is NOT the shortest song in the world

I remember when I was a kid that there was a song in some brittish comedy series which lyrics went like this: "Some songs are very very long. This one isn't." The whole sont took 6 seconds. I still remember the melody

no if you get the 7 inch comp called bleaarrrrrrgh or "son of bleeearrrrgggh" (the sequel) both of those 7 inch records have over 1000 tracks on them. most songs are under 5 seconds. You can also get boredoms, which is a japanese death metal band which also has very very short songs. Too bad no one is original these days.

Gas (Mat Jarvis) had a track on the old Emit label called 'Timestretch' that was a 4'30" long track squashed to 1 second! I wonder if you could stretch it back again?

There was another track on the same album (Gas 0095) that was something crazy like 0.017 seconds, and listed as 0'00" on the CD.

They weren't all short though, the longest track was about 17'00".

Yeah, I'm familiar with the Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh! series (that's on Slap a Ham records, right?), and as I said, I know there's shorter tracks out there than You Suffer, and I've got no doubt that a majority of them are done by legions of obscure grindcore bands.

I seem to recall A.C. (oh noes! not them again!

) may have had a few contenders as well.

Someone really should release a 1 sample-length long track on SACD and claim the gold.
