Automation is your friend...
On the left side of the MIDI clip, there is a section named "Clip".
At the bottom of that section, there are 3 little circles with the letter "L", a musical note, and the letter "E", in them.
Click on the letter "E".
This will open op a section named "Envelopes".
On the top left of this section, is a pull down menu that says MIDI Ctrl.
Right under that, are the different automatable parameters. Pinch Bend, should be the default one. If not, just click on this menu and choose the parameter that you want to automate.
Now make sure that you have clicked on the top of the section name "Envelopes", in order to make it the focus.
You should now see a red line on the right side, that you can now edit. Either double click on the line or use Ctrl-B to switch over to "Draw Mode".
The cool thing about Ableton's automation clips, is that they don't need to be the same length as the audio, or MIDI clip, that it is attached to.
Just turn off the "Linked" button, in the "Envelope" section, and now you can make the automation clips different lengths, than the audio or MIDI clips.

Hey, I've just been trying to do this and it works... but here's my problem -
I want to expand the range of the pitch, at the moment it's far too small... I'm trying to automate from really low up to really high over 16 bars, but at the moment the pitch range only seems to be about -8/+8... how do I expand that?
Thanks!
