Automap Universal, could use some help

I just got my Novation SL and am trying to setup Automap Universal with a couple of my plugins.
I started with Polysix, and the Learn utility worked well. I ran into a problem when I would try and learn a Polyisx parameter to one of the SL's knobs that is already assigned to a midi CC controlling another parameter on the Polysix. After using Learn, the knob would then be controlling 2 parameters on the Polysix. Since the Polyisx UI allows me to assign a parameter's midi CC to "none", this is easily remedied.
However, moving on to Minimonsta, the parameters are hard-coded to midi CC#s and I run into problems when trying to Learn a parameter to a knob/slider that is already assigned to a midi CC controlling a different parameter. Is the only way around this to change the midi CC# of the knob/slider on the SL to a midi CC# unused by Minimonsta? If so, i'm just going to run into this issue again when I try and automap another VST that is also has hardcoded midi CC# parameters, and when I reassign the midi CC# of the SL, this will ruin the automapping done for the previous VST.
Is there any way around this or am i doing things wrong?

I dont have the contoller you refer to but I gave up trying to map CCs to mine. Each VSTi has different CCs and there is no real standard. Ideally, you need to set up one seperate CC patch for each VSTi.

which you can do with the SL.UltraJv wrote:I dont have the contoller you refer to but I gave up trying to map CCs to mine. Each VSTi has different CCs and there is no real standard. Ideally, you need to set up one seperate CC patch for each VSTi.

You don't need to make MiniMonsta an automap plug. There is already a dedicated patch for it in your SL. Scroll through your templates to find it.
For any AU VST you map, you can save a template file to recall later when you reload that plug.
I have the 25. Its awesome

The Sl has 2 midi outputs to the host. One for automap, and then the standard for midi ccs. If you have both assigned to the track you will experience the problem your talking about. Try playing with the midi input settings on your track and see if you have any luck.
hope that helps,

I figure its a lot easier to stay on template 38 and just use automap universal for all my plugs, so I don't have to scroll through templates each time I want to control a synth, then scroll to a different template if I want to change synths. Isn't that basically one of the main reasons to have the SL?datapark wrote:which you can do with the SL.UltraJv wrote:I dont have the contoller you refer to but I gave up trying to map CCs to mine. How are you using the SL with your VSTS? If you're using templates for all your VSTs you might as well use any Midi keyboard controller that has sliders/encoders...
Or maybe I don't know how to automap properly. I can't see any benefits to using templates vs automap universal...
