I have a completely legal copy of Toxic Biohazard on my computer with a registered copy of Toxic III installed, as required, and am running AVG 8 as my virus scanner. I had not used Biohazard for a while, and just when I clicked on it to load it into my sequencer, I got a warning from AVG that it had detected that Trojan Horse backdoor.hupigon4.rcg. Anyone know anything about this? I scanned and scrubbed my computer. I'd love to use Biohazard, but until I find out more, I am really afraid to.

Image-Line uses ASProtect for all their protection. It's a effectively a file compression utility that wraps the original file in a protection layer as well, i.e.: registration scheme.
The problem with using file compressors is that a lot of viruses also use them (to reduce size and reverse engineering), I suspect your anti-virus has detected a virus signature inside your biohazard because of ASProtect, note: signature and NOT virus. I wouldn't be too worried, this happens from time to time. Some of the protection utilities these days are too advanced for virus scanners to pull apart so they look for common byte elements and if they get a match then it's assumed to be a virus. |

As explained above, this is a false positive.
The latest beta version of Toxic Biohazard doesn't have this problem: http://forum.image-line.com/viewtopic.php?t=13365 It should also be fixed by an update of your antivirus program's virus definitions. |

You may want to ask that question in a different forum, this is probably not the best place for it. |
