Mellotron Samples

I've finally gotten around to sampling the remainder of my public domain Mellotron tapes, but I'm not really happy with them. My Tron is experiencing an intermittent hum caused by the volume pedal jack and I didn't notice it until I finished sampling and began cleaning up the samples. Some notes have a low hum, others don't. I don't really have the time to work on my Tron at the moment, so I'm posting the samples as is. Within a mix, it may not be noticeable. But unlike the Tron, the hum is multiplied when you press more keys. I hope to eventually resample these sounds. When I do, I'll post an update here.
The sounds in ZIP files are:
M300A (2 violins)
M300B (solo violin)
Woodwinds 2 (appears to be flute, bassoon, oboe, piccolo, French horn and clarinet, all a bit out of tune with each other).
Layering the M300A with the MkII Violins yields a mellower sound than the MkII Violins alone.
As with the other samples, The tone control on the Tron was turned up full, so you may want to back off on the top end.

Thanks for the kind words, folks. I hope the samples are useful to you.
The M300A is the sound most favored by Gentle Giant and Barklay James Harvest. It's a nice contrast to the standard 3 Violins.

Oops, I forgot one thing. I added a single Gong WAV file that came on a tape frame with another Mellotron. It's listed on the web page as well as here:

Sorry, I don't have the MkII Flute, although mi7libraries.com has a very inexpensive multisample MkII Flute set that sounds pretty good. You can even buy individual notes.Automata wrote:Dude! this is fantastic!

Someone informed me that some of the M300A and M300B samples are a bit crackly, so I resampled those notes and uploaded new zip files:

tajiguy,
Just wanted to add my thanks for the Mellotron samples.
It took me the better part of three hours to get them all loaded in the EXS24 in Logic Express...of course, if I hadn't gotten distracted by playing each respective instrument for 15-20 minutes after I loaded the samples, the process might have gone a lot faster.
I particularly dig the fact that some of the sounds have a hint of grit on 'em. Gives 'em a very cool lo-fi character...if that makes sense. Anyway, again, thank you!!!
Cheers,
Jerod
