What will be announced is a secret. We can announce several things: a new Wavelab, Sequel, Cubase, Nuendo, VST Instruments, new hardware etc. The only thing that I can say now already, Steinberg has it's 25 birthday now !

Please have a little patient for the moment, and wait till we (make) our announcements at the NAMM show.

Which means "could, might, or might not". Nothing definitive there. ;) It's a tease. I do expect a new Cubase though.

I won't tell and won't admit to it EVEN IF someone figures it out.

Ah bugger! I was about to upgrade to C4 any day, now that the beta testers (i.e. the general public) have sorted it out. Now I'll have to hang on a while longer. No point until C5 is out. :?

I'll have to look for another new toy until then. I reckon it'll be a fight out between the Korg Legacy set or a new reverb. Oh, yeah, and RoughRider Pro. And I'm sure I'll think of something else. Nebula3 probably...there's just no peace for the fat-wallets :hihi:

In all seriousness, it took steiny a while to get c4 fairly right, if history is any indication, it's going to be awhile for c5 to get it's groove on! Just the messenger here, no reason to shoot bullets!

I hate it how Steinberg announces new versions of their software before fixing existing bugs.

I know lots of people could say "but it's the most stable ever!" etc. but they announced fixes/updates to SX3 that never happened, automation in Cubase 4 is fairly wonky and there's a tonne of other bugs too. I don't need any more features or instruments or improvements to the existing product. If only more software companies considered "fixing bugs" to be a higher priority than "adding features".

Steinberg's not the only one there... Sonar's on the "new release every Fall" program. You'll get 1-2 patches out and then anything else broken will wait for the next release (you hope).

And when they bundle an existing instrument with Sonar, it means that instrument is dead-ended as well.

I still like Sonar, but I'm on the every-other-release schedule. Best of luck, Cubies.

as far as new versions before current version bug fixes, that's pretty much the norm for most daws. personally, i wish all of them could slow it down and not come up with new versions in the 2-4 year span cause sometimes, i swear the shit (any daw) just came out, got it's first update, and already it's on to the next v.(at least that's how it felt for me seeing the announcements for sonar and samplitude)
