Emerald Tablet's "Colors in Dutch" is a great track -> original track and post.

My one tiny little quibble would be that the snare could be a bit* louder. Now that I got that over with I can talk about how great it is! You've achieved an awesome Portishead/hooverphonic/betaband vibe here. The subtle glitchy edits aren't overbearing and your treatment of the vocal maintains all of the depth while not fighting with the mix. Those guitar tones are also pretty special.

Excellent work you two. :)

Thanks, Justin. I can hear what your are(n't) hearing in the snare. I'm gonna notch the eq on that snare ever so slightly to give it a bit more presence on the final mix. :)
Huge thanks for the feedback and listen.

p.s. those guitar tones are all coming from my own preset collection in guitar rig 3.

How gorgeous, what a beautiful remix. I second the portishead/triphop vibe, well done Jason :tu:

I'm just coming from ET original and I saw there a link to this remix.
You push even more into the dark-vibe direction (like going from autumn to winter). I enjoyed the subtle use of glitchy/electronics elements and I dig reverb on vocals, it works great.

Cheers

Wow! Yes, this has an amazing trip hop vibe. Very impressed. :tu:

The trip hop vibe was definitely what I was trying to achieve. It's pretty close to what my imagination heard originally when I listened to this track.
That cool vocal reverb was on the original track he sent me, so ET gets all the credit for that. I just post effected the vocals to taste. Being such a great song, this was incredibly easy to work with.
Thanks for the listen, fellas.

Now, where is ET? I don't believe he has heard this yet.

The original is beautiful, this is beautiful++.

Detailed mix, deep vibe. I'm gonna go play it again...

[three more listens later] Cool, cool mix, man. I hope ET is pleased.
