Yeah it's got MIDI and made for that, as opposed to the Yamaha ez-ag which the midi was only intended for transferring sysex loaded midi songs to learn with.

Is there a release date on this thing?

Post

I've made enquiries about this and had a few responses back from a guy called Kevin there. If pre-ordered, you should have it by Xmas according to website.

The last email I had from him they were still in a dilema on how to switch between USB modes and that was only a few weeks ago. He told me it defaults as a general MIDI controller when plugged in but it needs to be switched for downloading content from their application/website.

Personally, I'm only looking at it as a MIDI controller for VST's as I play the real thing. It'll be a whole lot cheaper that the Roland option and feel more like a real guitar compared to the Ztars (which cost the same as the space shuttle).

The last email I sent them last week was enquiring on the release date, but I've had no response.

I will definitely be watching this, thanks for the heads-up (not much into games these days, so I might have missed it).

Cheaper than an eigenharp...

I've had an update from their CEO (nice bloke called Kevin). They have the units in the final development phase. They were put back about a month as they were working on improving the sensativity of the neck before release.

Anyway, he assures me that the website will be updated soon with more product info and revised delivery timescales.

I think this is going to be a great tool for us guitarists who can't play keyboards to save ourselves.

Latest update from the guys at YouRock Guitar is that they will be dispatching in January after the NAMM show. I've been assured that the delay was well worth while as they have made major improvements to the sensativity of the neck.

They also sent me a draft copy of the instruction manual and it looks really good and packed full of features. Loads of built in synth sounds as well as the guitar sounds and jam tracks built in.

There are different modes for the neck also including a tap mode which disengages the open strings to allow for "Van Halen" style finger tapping so that you don't trigger unwanted notes. There is also a mode which allows you to slide up the strings which may be usefull for fretless bass sounds.

Anyway, they have tested it with just about every DAW on the market and it works perfectly.
