Anyone vouch for the quality of native Focusrite plugs?

This suite as seen in the "new releases" seems to cover a lot of ground and only costs $99...

Thanks for any opinions,

- Paul

Well, I haven't used em, I've no idea about quality. However, will I be surprised if they are damn good? No. Why? The software prices are now beginning to reflect the current market, ie I'm sure they are cool plugs.

$99

Totally Excellent!!

I'm also very curious to hear anyone's opinion on it. They look really great and focusrite has a reputation to keep, but I can help thinking that if they release it for only 99 dollars, it won't be top notch quality.

nah...

Softwares getting cheaper. twas bound to happen. everything gets cheaper, and the economy has forever changed. Not to mention reverb, comp, gate, and eq is very, "bread and butter."

Good price, and essentials, from a company with a huge reputation. I'm practically sold. But hey, $99!

Would you buy a software pack: EQ, Comp, Verb, Gate, for $999? How do we know that is, "top notch." Could easily be dated......

I use their plugin suite and it's nothing special, just better than standard, included effects. They are definitely a let down given Focusrite's reputation and, IMHO, taint it significantly.

I emailed Focusrite to see the differences with Scarlett and they said
I have outlined the differences below:
- New interface in Scarlett
- Improved metering in Scarlett
- RTAS support in Scarlett
So it looks like just a repackage, price hike marketing ploy. There's also no special pricing for plugin suite users.

Cheers,
Nigel

I thought about this yesterday when I was looking at there website. I was wondering about the difference between these and the fx suite that comes with their hardware.

Then these plug ins, are actually overpriced for $99

I was wondering late yesterday if these were just a repackage, I really was.............

Gotta be careful with these music companies. Whatever seems great at first, might not be.

When I saw the GUI, I immediately thought 112db had added some more products to their REDLINE Range. Looking VERY similar IMHO.

I want to start a pool to see if this one ever gets released.

Has anyone seen head or tail of the Novation Supernova effects package? How about that Guitar package that was supposed to come along as well (instead of just being bundled with nio 24)? GC shows a ship date of 11/13, but I wonder.

I have the plugin suite that comes bundled with the Saffire Le from Focusrite.
I really like the eq the compressor and the reverb( very low cpu).I use them a lot for tracking and just as much as the recent T Racks bundle.$99 seems like an okay deal to me.

Likely an attempt to quickly add a revenue stream. I'm sure their overall income has taken a hit over the last year, and they're basically cashing in with ho-hum plugs even though there's no reason why a $100 fx suite can't be of high quality. They want to maintain a reason for buying their far more expensive products.

i was curious about this myself. novation nio owners have these plugins and was curious about the difference between the scarlett versions and the nio effects rack ones.

I saw this on the shelf at guitar center today. Looks like a red eddie kramer
:P
The gate looks kind of interesting for the type of music im doing, but after completing the t-racks3 suite is there much in scarlett to benefit that i dont already own?

I'm growing fond of the Scarlett Reverb. It reminds me of one of the Alesis MIDIVerb units II or III, and I like the gate because it does a smooth chop effect like Mantronix used throughout the In Full Effect LP.

Show me how to post mp3 samples of the suite in action and I'll give you something to put in your pipes.
And the beat goes on...

You know, I'm feeling the same way about the reverb. It's definitely grown on me. I'm using it as a send for my mono guitar tracks and it's getting the job done nicely. I really haven't even touched the other stuff as I have other plugs I'm more than happy with performing their jobs.
