GM VSTi?

I am looking for a VSTi, preferably low-cost of freeware, to play back GM MIDI files.
A multitimbral soundfont player would be great as I have downloaded some freeware .sf2 libraries some time ago.
I was going to use SFZ but I've heard about problems with multicore CPUs.
I am using Reaper on 64bit Windows 7 OS.
Any reliable solutions out there?
Thanks

SuperCore will have an expansion set made up of reliable GM sounds and percussion. However, it is a bit of a way off.
All SuperCore expansions will be quite inexpensive, so look for it in the future.
SuperCore, when it will be released, will be found here:

Or get the SFZ patch that means it works multi-core. No one knows why Cakewalk don't make this available.

Get sfz.zip and replace the DLL from sfz197.exe with the content; it's a straight recompile for multi-core.

It's multitimbral in the sense it has 16 MIDI channels and each can be on a separate Program within the one Soundfont.
Of course, you can load multiple copies -- it's a DLL, so it's mostly shared code and, if you load the same samples twice, they're shared too. Each separate instance can have a soundfont loaded.
