is helix' arp text format documented anywhere? i created a tool for orion's arp (that doesn't work because the import feature in orion doesn't work properly) called arpinator - which is here:
http://designermonkey.rekkerd.org/arpinator.html
it seems like helix' arp might save this little thing i built from being obsolete as the arp uses text format, but i can't find any docs.
jonas, can you point me to the docs?
thanks! loving helix.

hey grymmjack
may not be that easy, as helix uses a scripting language for arp.
Jonas posted some basic info about it's syntax a while ago
i've made some script that could more or less fit what you need (your aplet would have to modify just some text fields), if you care i'll get back to you later with it
otoh, it would be cool, if the aplet would allow direction selection in that case.
A shameless plug for my own silly scripts

if you look into cereal02.txt
<edit> cereal02 is distributed with Helix installer</edit>
it does a quasi-step sequencer with 8 steps and and velocity, gate length and arp direction per step.
you should get some idea about how to do such a thing and which fields to edit.
i'll get back to you with some more elaborated script after weekend
i mean 16 steps, transpose and maybe some other stuff per step.
<editedit>
i think i'd like velocity, gate length, arp direction, diatonic transpose (with root specified) min and max note and possibly a fixed note option a la SIDbox stepsequencer. Octave transpose is handled by Helix outside of script, so i usually do not bother including such stuff in scripts.
gotta dash

fk, late as usually, sorry for that... :/
http://michu.kofeina.net/cereal16.zip
cereal script modified so it sports 16 steps and a chromatic transpose per step beside previous features.
the file isn't exactly copy&paste friendly tho'
in case of questions shoot me

do i get it right, that when one uses 'retune' opcode then the 'off' opcode should target the original note number not the retuned one? i find it a bit confusing...
