well.. I can't speak english well. so I can't post like this kind of thing. It's hard to express my mind. and I don't want study english
Anyway.. a brave man tolk to the word. stop!! I think he is very brave good man. ofcause nobody can't defense someone's creation.
I'am really a fan of free synths. and If you feel those are bad, you can use search option as 'not saveed as'
Frankly, I was away from synthEdit synths. cause I had got enough things.
but, I was a man watching synthEdit synths from a long time ago.
and many synthEdit synth has got a weak sound. In my case, If I feel a synthEdit synth sound are like synthEdit, I delete it. and I got it only when I feel that tone is beautiful.
I think synthEdit synth are worth at warm and smooth sound. Especially PAD synth is synthEdit's area. So, I think If you can't make good tone with synthEdit, I recommend synthmaker.
Let's think about synthmaker. Someone or many people can don't like that.
I think still kinisis and synthmaster2 is good synths. but, Very popular synth, and major synth at soft synth are Zebra, Z3ta, Vanguard, Massive. Those synth are very rough and plastic tone. I think this kind of synth(rough and plastic) is only software's glory.
and then.. think about synthmaker.. this is a synthmaker story. isn't it?
synthmaker synths are rough and plastic. I think synthmaker synth can be used with popular soft digital synths.
I don't think all synthmaker synths are always good. and already many synthmaker synths are released. but, I am wellcome..
I send a e-mail to two persons at this week. one is synthmaker synth, and other one is synthEdit synth that very very old. I said 'you have to sell it..'
Thanks.. all free makers..
I will introduce some successful case. First is AM's ClapLab and KickLab XL, XXL. AM was synthedit. I don't like his all synths. But, those are very nice.
ClapLab has very good tone. and KickLab has fat.

z3ta+ and Zebra do not sound plastic at all. Liquid is a much better word. And I like liquid tone. Zebra's filters are something else. z3ta's waveshaping is amazing.
Massive is an entirely different beast. Wavetable synthesis is bound to sound cold, icy, digital and painful, when taken to extremes. But it can do warm and breathy stuff just as well!

You speak English much better than I could speak your language. You're doing okay. If you need help with how to say something, you can send me a PM.debby wrote:well.. I can't speak english well.

Again, I don't find Massive sounding plastic. But I do find it being a great CPU hog

Angular Momentum synths are made with Synthmaker. I guess you meant Synthmaker instead of Synthedit?debby wrote:

It's funny how people's perception can differ from each other, I always found in particular Synthmaker-made synths sound a little "plastic" to my ears

Just out of curiosity, from a thread a couple of years ago:
TiUser wrote: I've gone through a couple of Zebra demos again... I am sorry, I am even more off the track I tried to walk along but there is anything subtle in every sound I don't like... something like "noble plastic", but it's hard to find any word for it and it's very subtle, not obvious.
Urs wrote: The filters were modelled to give me that certain Ensoniq touch, which, yes, is a bit plastic. But also quite organic - where the Virus back then lacked. In the early nineties we called that "American sound" as in Emu, Kurzweil and Ensoniq - round bass, warm mids, soft heights with crisp transients.

My only issue, if it's even that, is how slow SM stuff can be to load, and I have no idea why this is.
We escape the trap of our own subjectivity by
perceiving neither black nor white but shades of grey
