This is something I did months back and decided not to release because I was trying to concentrate on creating something more musical. But listening with a bit of perspective it has grown on me, so I changed my mind.

It is called 'the cursed loop' because I think this is the third completely different, fully tracked, arranged and mixed version I've thrown away where I've tried to use this strange start and end theme :help: (It is a patch from Benedict Roff-Marsh's Synthstudio pack 1, which I bought specifically for that sound after I hit this loop while demoing it).

Anyway, thats the liner notes.. here is the track:

I like this one a lot. Great sounds and a really good sort of oddness. Nice. Thanks.

Yeah, some nice choice of sounds and cool variations here. Sounds plenty musical to these ears. I'd have liked to heard the bass come in earlier at the beginning, but only because I noticed its absence for a little before it came in - but it's not "wrong" or anything.

Good job. :)

Thanks for listening both :)

I like all the stuff happening about 1/3 the way thru. Cool changes of pace, beats seem to drive things along. I like the end.

Sounds great t00nz! Lots of nice ear candy to keep the brain tingling. It's funny how some distance can change your feelings toward a piece, especially when you've been listening to it over and over for an extended period. Anyhow, nice work. I think you've found what you were seeking. :)

Cheers polyslax, glad you like it.. yeah I think distance is probably the most important thing to get a decent take on a mix or arrangement.

In terms of musicality though, I have some specific ideas for things to explore.. like more structure, melodic and harmonic ideas (and if I could find the time, to better learn an instrument). So not nearly there yet, but glad this track worked out at last :)
