Any recommendations for a non-dance/non-trance soundbank for Sylenth1? Or does such exist at all?

Post

No responses, exactly what I thought: it looks like most - if not all - Sylenth soundbanks are dance-oriented.

I didn't realize anyone was still making non-dance/non-trance music anymore :)

I always wanted a bank like that, but what I usually do is modify existing presets and/or make my own so they are more like what I like.

i'd love something like lotuzia's asteroids sound set for sylenth1 - because there are great sounds for funky sounding hand made stuff. and sylenth is light on CPU and has a different sound - but i am not sure if lawrence would be interested in doing that.

totally right...
except, there is only one soundbank that maybe will fit your needs:

Sonic Elements Dragonfly Bundle (google it)

;)

+1. I think Lotuzia said he was working on a Sylenth1 bank some time ago ... Although I hope this is not ruining any nice 'guess the synth' contest that he always likes to organize ;)

Yup that is correct. :) The bank focuses on a variety or useful sounds. A good sound doesn't have to be genre specific. Here is a link to the bank:

The 2nd audio demo is good if you are looking for how the bank can be used in a non-dance context.

Togeo do some very good soundscapes for sylenth (http://togeostudios.com/). Some of them are now included in the new Sylenth v2.21 beta. Others available for low cost. Many patches make excellent use of aftertouch, mod wheel, and most of the modulation slots.

Gotta be honest, pretty unimpressed with the demos. Sounds seem kinda generic and bland, certainly not what I would expect from an amazing synth like Sylenth. A shame, as I love the sound and CPU lightness of Sylenth, would love some non-trance banks. Am very poor at making my own sounds.

I would like more of that too, but actually there are some really good ones that are non-trance oriented in the soundbanks. You can tweek those a bit to your own liking. I have certain favorites (more Moog-like sounds or Oberheim type a thing) and was thinking of putting them all together in one bank so I don't have to hunt for them everytime. :)

One of newer favorites that I am using in my new song (tweeked a little bit):
020: LEAD Trackin Treasure5.

Here is a short example of just the synth track solo'ed from it:
