Hallo,

I've recently bought hang sample bank and I am so happy for it!
I am in love with this instrument and I think this kind of the instrument which is quite realistically reproducible in the sampler.

What I think is really shame that as far as I know it wasn't sampled with soft sticks which brings more soft and less percussive sound. I am just wandering why it wasn't included in the sample bank. I think this use to be quite usual technique with this instrument. I guess you surely know this band ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yM6hPuui-l8

I was wandering if there is any chance Soniccouture could possibly update this sample bank?

I am very much looking to use it in my future projects!

Thanks for great work

Most Hang players won't let anyone play their drum with sticks, since it's not recommended and can damage the drum.

That said, we will try and find one and do this in future if possible.

thanks so much for your answer.
sorry i am not native english speaker.... maybe we don't understand each other exactly...

i didn't mean the classic drum sticks, but the soft one what are called "felt mallets" in english maybe... used for the cymbal effects, or percussive instruments like vibraphone. this can hardly damage the drum!

i have tried to include video example from one of the most renowned band playing hang - portico quartet (the video is documentary of their latest recording at abbey road):

The portico quartet is great, and I've seen them using soft mallets before on the Hang, you're right.

PanArt still don't recommend it though, because it can put the instrument out of tune.

Nonetheless, we will try to get this sound in future if we have a chance.
