This is the 1st time I post a song with vocals here @KVR's MusicCafe.
Until now I've been posting only electronic instrumentals, but now you can hear how my voice would sound if I was talking instead of writing in my kvr posts ... :hihi: hehe
The song itself is kind of an electronic slow synth pop, or something, à la ... hmmm... Petshop Boys(?), but not quite... Perhaps you could tell me the influences or genre you eventually find in it, cause I don't know exactly how to describe it.
So, here it goes:
Utopian Paradise. [2'54'']
Thanks for any feedback and for taking the time to listen.

Yes it does sound slightly Petshop Boys-ish.

I think your voice well suits the song and style (whatever it is), but should be a bit more prominent in the mix. (that's what they keep telling me too!)

Would also like to hear a bit more variation in the percussion.

Overall :tu:
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

Yes, some drum variation definitely needs to be implemented. Also, I always felt I should go back to this song and refine it some more, but didn't have the time yet. In fact, as soon as I had come up with the 1st part of the short(ish) lyrics I recorded the voice immediately just to not forget the melody that I was coming up with at the moment. So it was recorded on the impulse of that moment and I didn't dare to re-record the 1st part again because I was afraid of not being able to recapture the initial mood as well as it spontaneously came up in the first recording. The second part was recorded in another take later after I managed to write a few more words, and the mood of the voice was no longer exactly as in the 1st part, so, back then, I just decided at not mess with voice further so as to not make it worse :? ... But now that some time as passed, with a fresh perspective maybe it's the right time for attempting a new better version.
Thanks for your suggestions.
