Again,
Beautiful work. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. It reminds me of some of David Crosby's solo work, although I'm not entirely sure why as I can't point to anything specific. It has a bit more bite than that, though, and I like that about it.
Awesome guitar work and the mix is just great.
With this track you've inspired (and shamed) me into trying do better with my own music. I just don't have any guitar skills, so I have to make it up some other way. How to do that is still a mystery.
Anyway, great work again. This one's been downloaded and will be listened to regularly (assuming that's okay with you...

omg, I can't believe you said that! CS&N were so influential to me, and especially David Crosby's first solo album. In fact, the ah's in this were done with that album in mind.SLD Music wrote: It reminds me of some of David Crosby's solo work, although I'm not entirely sure why as I can't point to anything specific. It really makes my day, that you heard that in this song. thanks!
Well, I've been inspired by many on this board, but thank you for saying that! Very chilled out with a lovely lush guitar tone.
But where's that Mtron? (my head is fried from editing samples all day
so perhaps I missed it).

it's a very low cello, from .33-1.06 and same part in the second half. Probably maybe could come up (as my guitarist used to say to me when wanting me to turn up 'just a c**t hair')lolhimalaya wrote:Very chilled out with a lovely lush guitar tone.

You've come a long way.. this is great work. Sounds big, good feel.. you seem to really be in your element in this style. Only negative is the percussion seems a bit too loose to me at the start... but that's just me pickin

That'd be my fault then -- I corrupted this otherwise great song!VitaminD wrote:...Only negative is the percussion seems a bit too loose to me at the start... but that's just me pickin

loose where it needs to be ...
i'd bring that lead guitar up in the mix , a bit ...
i've referenced dave mason , in the past , when reviewing gary's work ,
but not here ... the crosby homage fits ...
don't hear enough balladeers in the cafe ...
good work , fellows ...

Fabulous work guys! That tuning is great and really takes the flavour of the track in a nice direction. I always like your voice and it works well here.

Thanks mate!SLD Music wrote:I quite liked the drums.
Out of all the collabs I have done here over the years with some great musicians -- from glitch to Industrial to Pop -- the Blue Dad is one of the easiest and most inspiring to work with, and it's been both a pleasure and an honor.
One of these days soon when I pop back over to the USA, I'm gonna have me that RV with my gear in the back, my dog, a pack of smokes and a full tank of gas -- Gary and I are gonna do something 'live'.
Great song BD!

Not a chance! Your work surpassed my wildest expectations.adj wrote: Fire that drummer!
thank you norm and poly!
and I've got to mention the tuning has been so inspirational. It's the first time I've ever messed with alternate tunings, and this one is so beautiful. I've already got ideas for three maybe four songs with this tuning.

Really Alex, you took this bit of an idea for a tune and really gave it some life.
I'm very grateful.
