Hi

Just wanted to tell the world I bought Aspect, and to me it's the best analog sounding vst i ever played with.
Oscillators are great, so are filters and mod options etc, moreover it's got a linux build (i don't use linux yet, but in the future...).

So congrats to the developers. Tried sequent, seems amazing as well, just have to figure out how it works

ps1 : is it possible to hide my real name on the synth gui ?
ps2 : how is the "portable mode" coming along ? This is very important to me, i don't want things to be scattered in appdata, mydocuments etc (i only use portable apps)

Yeah, we get told that a lot, but it's always nice to hear it again.

Currently, no. However, if you've bought using someone else's name (perhaps using a relative's credit card, for example), by all means contact support and we can generate you a license against whatever name you want.

It's implemented, but until I've decided the best way of enabling it, you'll need to manually do it :

Install Aspect and register it.
Copy your Aspect.xml configuration file ( from C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Loomer\Aspect.xml ) to the same plug-in directory that contains the AspectVST.dll.
Edit the (copied) config file, and add the following: <VALUE name="LibraryRoot" val="."/> This means all presets (and for other products, samples, plug-in caches, etc) will be located relative to the AspectVST.dll
It's now portable! Copy or zip-up the .dll, .xml file, and Aspect folder, and you're good to go.

Hmmm, this could easily be all done with a fairly simple batch file. I'll add that to the to-do list!

( I've also managed to sneak in a major hint about our next product: wonder if anyone will catch it! )

Not an aspect user, but samples was the word I thought what does it do here?

Yeah that was also the only word that I could find.. But it would be too vague (could be a lot of things) to be a major hint imo, so still dunno

I got samples too but that might be referring to Cumulus (which btw is a lot of fun, nice to be able to say that now that it's finally released*!).

Emm, well, it actually created an "aspect" folder in the host (reaper) exe directory, not inside its own folder... so there must be a bug somewhere

For instance, i used ./presets/ as library path, and it created a "presets" folder where the reaper.exe is, not (at all

) where the aspect.dll is

Yeah, actually I think you're right about that: I'll add a note to look into it for a future revision.

In the meantime, how about setting your Library Root to your vst plugins directory, for example:

Because this is not a relative path and it wouldn't be portable then

Do you plan to correct the path thing so that .\ would be aspect.dll folder ?
