Hi Folks - Thought I'd share a song fresh from the oven, maybe even a little half baked, and inspired by a recent KVR thread....AND made entirely with legal licensed software ;)

OneToMany_You Can't Take It

You Can't Take It

Hypocrite is right
a way to place ourselves
squarely in the human way
Cause might makes right
and we excuse ourselves
polish off the dirt we've played

You think you know
Yourself the virtued kind
But you have done to others too
So don't be so
indignant, mad and blind
when it turns and comes to you

Rude it feels to regard
the blind you
has the kind you overtaken
reaching down inside
you find yourself
behaving in the self same way

Even the jungleman knows
that dual behaviors engender woes
but stealing and lying are dangered
when they're faced with want for food and clothes

And so it goes
that we all feel the plunder
either from one side or the other
Humanities woes we're all living under
Why were these two laws placed so low?

You're gonna plead certainty
with what you say you wanna be
You're gonna be positive
shun the lies and cheating
before your face it's flaunted
the urge grows to want it
lie and cheat
because you know you want it

You go merrily down your mixed up road
explain your acts away yeah
Cause you'll never redeem your heinous ways
your reasoning betrays ya

It's a perilous thing to think of another
alone when you lay your head down at night
and let your mind weigh upon your perfidious way

Your road to nothing
I really do see your road to something
When your day comes
to layoff the running
and gather to make your fate good

Ooh - You find you've taken something
that wasn't yours for the taking
You opined you've taken nothing
cause you didn't use it after all
You find you've taken something
and find that you just can't take it
In your mind you're feeling something
maybe your better self betrayed
You find you've taken something
but really feel that you can't take it
You find you've taken something
that wasn't yours afterall

Holy Peter Godwin, Batman - I love your voice. The song is kind of all over for me - good lyrics, though.
You got a real gift, though.

 Thanks osiris - can you please clarify "all over"? Do you mean all the synth stuff happening behind the vocal or the song structure? It's a through composed piece so maybe that's what's buggin.

I enjoyed it. The song was a little "busy" with the synths, but not overtly so. This was well sung. I agree that your voice sounds great.

Nice voice! Sounds like a cross between Mark Hollis and.. Peter Steele..

Nice song too! :tu:

I want to give another listen on headphones and tell you my impressions.

I really like it. I think what throws me off, perhaps that there is no structure, but maybe that's your intention. In other words, there's no verse chorus. It seems to be one big verse. It reminds me of Rush in that regard. The beat has a very jazzy swing to it. I don't like jazz. (Except for some stuff I heard live in New Orleans)
I think if you write a catchy chorus and insert it between the verses, you'd have a hit on your hands. I admire anyone who can write a song, because I can barely write a grocery list.
Would love to do an electro tune with you sometime.

Great song :tu:

Out of curiosity: are those drums BFD (eco)? The snare sounds like the Slingerland.

Drums are RMIV,with the MT Free 1 kit, and played by my bro on his greatly expanded TD-20SX drumset.

Thanks for the feedback - Yes, like I mentioned earlier it's a through composed piece, so there's no traditional verse-chorus repetition.

A collab would be cool - pm me on the parameters
