It would be cool to be able to set up a time in beats or seconds so that for example I could tap a note and it would trigger/light up for 2 seconds or for 1 bar or something.
This would be handy for making uniform samples from synth patches where you could leave the recorder running and tweak a patch then play 1 second then tweak it some more and play another 1 second and so on and then later cut them all up in an editor. It would just be a nice tool for leisurely sample making.

I made a plugin called Lengther a long time ago that can do this. It lets you set a minimum and/or maximum length for notes. It still works if you can figure it out and can stand the default SynthEdit controls.
