hi,
i didn't find any information on this error in the existing topics so

i'm running win7 64bit, am using the 64bit version of zen. when i'm prompted to choose an instrument i browse my vst folder, add synth1 and get "Plugin File(c:\blablabla) not found"

what am i doing wrong ?

I've got to admit, I'm getting the same error here.
Tried using scan method, dropping in a VST, adding from a c:\VST directory... all give the same plugin not found error.

Only with synth1, or with any plugin ?
I remember there is something funky about synth1 (having different synthID on Mac and PC - so maybe the synthID changed in a recent version).

with any plugin, the 32bit version works.

You're not trying to load a 32 bits plugin in the 64 bits version, are you ?
