Un-Tuning Files

Remember reading something about Zebra's tun support not working well (i.e. loading different than saved with other versions) so I got used not using the micro tuning feature.. although I certainly want to build a small tun file collection and use it.
I don't know how true this is, but maybe this thread would also be a good chance to talk a bit about micro-tuning in Zebra... anyone?
Anyway, thanks for posting the files.

I like using stretched octaves. Just apply a tiny bit of keyfollow to pitch modulation. It can sound amazing on full-keyboard sounds.

I had posted a while back now about not getting the tun support to work. Since then, I've upgraded my computer with a new system install and loaded the latest version of Zebra. When I load a standard .tun file, it still crashes; but! I thought I'd give these files by jOhnny a try and they work :) ! So I studied the format to see what I could learn.3ee wrote:Remember reading something about Zebra's tun support not working well............................

There are sort of three main tuning file formats. The first can be a Scala file which may have offsets or ratios above the root for one octave. The next file that I know as a ".tun" file is a text based file of cents amount for 128 notes in a chart. The last one is an extention to this by Anamark where the cents values are quoted to 6 decimal places. Zebra seems to work on the Anamark format. I opened the Shaken files and if I only use the first part [Tuning], Zebra crashes. If I use only the second part [Exact Tuning] it works. Both together seems fine too. I'm real happy to figure this out because I really like the sound of Zebra but I had stoppped using it.
The easiest way to do this now is to generate the files at the u-he tun file generator page:
http://www.u-he.net/scripting/Arprestrictor.php
Just one problem with this though; there seems to be a bug in the code. When I enter values into the table, the cents offset below are doubled. Can someone else check this? Can it be fixed Urs?

I found this link to some .TUN files on a previous forum post here -

The link to the .TUN files -

The zip files seems to be a converted archive of the Scala library.
Anyone who is interested in using these .TUN files could also use the free (donation-ware) ScalaVista as a reference to browse the library of scales.
