"shamans lament" freeform improvisation featuring Mark l Fender Rhodes and Diva Ace Zebra plus hardware.
***edit*** On review the buss compressor sounded a bit blowey in the mids, so I did this again. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9504745/shaman%20laments.mp3 "shaman laments" 12.19 MB 6 min 39 sec at 256 kbps hope this is an improvement. this is the original version. Just played this 3 times. Lovely enveloping ambience. Perfect Sunday afternoon relaxation accompaniment. Great sounds. As it finished, the washing machine kicked into its spin cycle, bringing me back to reality.
Nice work, fatc |

Hey thanks for the encouragement seismic while I get things sorted here.
With the KSP8's extra inputs, had everything too hot. Now have Master at 0 and all the channel faders at -6, which seems an ok volume for the stuff that gets routed out of the DAW and back in. I also needed to read the manual and get the Digital on sync rather than lock for the AES connection I'm using. So, progress. And pleased the tune seemed ok for you, thanks again. |

Really nice! I liked this a lot. I'm a sucker for Rhodes e-piano. Just out of curiosity, did you have a real Mark I that you recorded? Or were you using a VST? |

Thanks SLD much appreciated and glad you like it.
Yes, very battered looking 73 Mark l Suitcase. Marvel of engineering inside it I think. It seems to have an odd HiZ ish impedance output, needs a good preamp. I have it placed wrong at the moment, kind of behind me and my main controller and monitor, so I have to do a major swivel to play it while keeping other stuff going, performance style. |

glad you like it astrochimp, and thanks for checking this out.
And JJBiener, much appreciated. Am integrating some new hardware, so using the same setup/improvisation to make judging tweaks a little easier. Haven't quite got there yet, and too many other things on at the moment, but hopefully will get another go at this. thanks again |

had another thought briandc, the attack on the shaman lead preset is very very quick. I play it on the Korg MS20 mini controller, and its very expressive, slightest touch has it going off. |

Hi fateamenabletochange, I don't have Zebra, although I did download Zebralette (can't get it to work though..). My hope was that it was a sound from a non-pay VSTi. Maybe I'll just have to try to tweak another VSTi to see if I can get close.. Brian |
