Transient Designer on the cheap

Hi guys
What's been your experiences with the various transient designers out there?
I'd like to get the SPL but I am wondering if there is something out there just as good but cheaper?
Schwa Sculpto? Or Stillwell transient monster?
I am aware I can demo these and I will get round to it but some of you have probably done the transient designer hunt already.
I've read before that the cheaper ones just don't cut it.

I compared a whole bunch of plugins before I ended up getting this:

try it out, you might be surprised how good it is.

oh my goodness, look at the price of transient designer and twin tube, i am sure they used to be $99 before plugin alliance. Now they are twice that!

Something new:
http://www.soniqware.com/products-picoseries.htm
but it appears to have attack/release transient processing in 2 different plugins (?!)

I like the different curve options, those are always very useful. This looks really good, will try it out later. I don't think I've seen a shaper before with different curve choices. Unless Sculpto does that too.

The spl transient designer , adds a pleasing quality to the sound.
A bit like auto tune with the voice.
I found that the transient designer doesn't work as good with big sampling rates.
Also, I don't like effects that rely on a threshold , or on compression.
SPL transient allow powerful results with only two knobs.
If you combine crossover vst, and/or msed , with transient designer, you win lot of flexibility.

Yeah, that's $80 for both. Interesting company though. They have a plug similar to the waves designer, though maybe more complex. Multiband transient designer. Bit over my budget though.sonicpowa wrote:Something new:

I will try the flux one again, that's on the to-demo list. It's free anyway like you said.
I tried a bunch of the free ones out a while ago and don't remember being satisfied, I may have not been judging them properly though.

I know it's horrible. I don't like plug-in alliance, they are so expensive and I don't think they are really better than everyone else.Mushy Mushy wrote:Aiynzahev wrote:oh my goodness, look at the price of transient designer and twin tube, i am sure they used to be $99 before plugin alliance. Anyway, shame about the twintube, however if you ask me the very best tube emulation I've ever heard was WaveArts TubeSat. I wan't to buy that sometime. Someone was selling it here for $50 not long ago. Should have picked it up its a steal at that price.

Don't worry about the CPU usage, just get around it somehow. I typically never like "tube" or "saturation" plug-ins but this one really sounds good.
