To celebrate the arrival from California of a very special 1976 Minimoog to my studio I decided to release this as a small freebie.

It's made up of 24 samples of a typical twangy Model D bass (rather reminiscent of the bass used on Kraftwerk's Autobahn).

I have tried to capture the spirit of the beast through A-B testing by keying up 1 of 3 random samples of the same note per key with a touch of portamento.

The original VCF and VCA envelopes have been captured for authenticity. It's worth the seeming loss of flexibility as the Mini never sounds the same on the same note thanks to it's 3 free runing oscillators and discrete analog envelope generators.

The samples were captured directly from the Mini's output jack.

Kewl sound. Thanks. :)

Must have cost you a small fortune. How does it compare to 'high end' VSTi's? :hihi:
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.
